Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the current local-first version of Salpakan Tactics stores, when outside services may receive technical information, and the controls available to you.
Short version: the Game requires no account and does not send your matches, moves, or piece positions to a game server. An unfinished match is saved only in your browser so you can continue later. Google Fonts and any website host may receive ordinary request information when their resources are loaded.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Salpakan Tactics, a browser-based Game of the Generals board game (the “Game”). “We,” “us,” or “the operator” means the person or organization providing the copy of the Game you are using.
A separately modified, hosted, or redistributed copy may use different services or collect different information. Its provider should supply an updated privacy notice.
2. Information stored on your device
The Game uses browser local storage to keep one unfinished match available for continuation. The saved record may contain:
- the chosen game mode and AI difficulty, current phase, turn, and active player;
- piece types, owners, locations, and whether pieces remain in play;
- the local move and battle log, pending win conditions, and save time.
This record is stored under gotg.local-battle.v1. It remains on the device and browser profile where the Game was played. The Game does not upload this record to us.
3. Information we do not collect
The current version has no user accounts, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, payment processing, multiplayer server, or gameplay telemetry. We do not ask for your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photographs, microphone, or camera.
The Game does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
4. Network and third-party services
Google Fonts
The interface loads font files through Google Fonts. When this occurs, your browser contacts Google and may provide technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, and requested resource. Google processes that information under its own privacy terms.
Website hosting
If you access the Game from a hosted website rather than a server running only on your device, the hosting provider may automatically process standard request and security log data, such as IP address, date and time, requested files, referring page, and browser type. We do not receive that data when you run the Game solely on your own local server. The host’s policies govern its processing.
Babylon.js
The Game uses Babylon.js to render its 3D scene. The library is bundled with the Game and does not, by itself in this implementation, receive your match information.
5. Retention and your controls
An unfinished match remains in local storage until it is replaced, the match ends, the saved record becomes invalid, or you clear the Game’s site data. You can remove it at any time using your browser’s controls for clearing site data or local storage.
Blocking local storage will prevent continuation across page reloads, but the Game should remain playable for the current session. Blocking Google Fonts may change typography without affecting game rules.
6. Sharing and sale
Because we do not receive your saved match information, we do not sell or share it. Ordinary technical information handled by Google Fonts or a hosting provider is controlled by those providers as described above.
7. Children’s privacy
The Game is a general-audience strategy game and does not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use of the internet and review the policies of any hosting or font provider involved.
8. Security
Local-only storage reduces transmission of match information, but no device, browser, or storage system is completely secure. Anyone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to inspect or erase locally saved game data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the Game adds online multiplayer, accounts, analytics, payments, cloud saves, or other data practices. The revised page will show a new “Last updated” date. Material new collection should be disclosed before it begins where required by law.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the operator through the source repository, download page, or distribution channel from which you received this copy of the Game. If a hosted release identifies a separate publisher, contact that publisher directly.
